Chapter 7: Browsing the Web

BackWeb allows you to subscribe to channels linked to sites on the World Wide Web that are of interest to you, keeping you updated with the latest developments in your fields of interest. This allows you to receive the information that you need without wasting time looking for it.

After interacting with an InfoPak, or during an InfoPak display, BackWeb gives you the ability to access the InfoPak's Web site for more information, to order a product, etc. In addition, you can directly access the channel's Web site for more information about the channel provider.

Accessing an InfoPak Web Site

To access the Web site of an InfoPak:

Right click on an active InfoPak and choose Access Web Site from the pop-up menu

Select the InfoPak in the InfoPak List of the BackWeb window, select Properties from the InfoPak menu and click on the Author tab. Click the Open Web Page button if it is activated.

Accessing a Channel Web Site

To access the Web site of a channel:

1. Select the channel in the Channel Selector area.

2. Click its Web link in the channel Info area.

1. Right click the channel.

2. Choose Web Page in the pop-up menu.

You are taken directly to the channel’s Web page in your Web browser.

The Web link will only appear in the Channel Info area if provided.
